If I attend an event with a ticket I bought from broker and I'm unhappy was it the broker's fault?

Valid and Invalid Ticket Broker Complaints

When buying anything, there are times when customers just aren't happy with their purchase. If you buy tickets from a ticket broker and are unhappy with them, here's how to distinguish whether or not you have the right to seek justice from that company. If you feel you have been wronged and wonder if it was the broker's fault, here are some guidelines courtesy of the National Association of Ticket Brokers (NATB):

Valid complaints against a broker include:

  • The show was canceled and the broker has not issued a refund after it made clear of the refund policy
  • You paid the broker for tickets on a "try to get" basis and never got your tickets or a refund for your money
  • You paid the broker for tickets that were guaranteed and the tickets were never delivered
  • You ordered and paid for tickets and when they were delivered they said "obstructed view." However, you were never informed that the tickets you bought had an obstructed view
Invalid complaints against a broker:

  • The event was postponed and you weren't able to make it on the rescheduled day
  • You attend an event and are unhappy with your seat or view
  • You feel you overpaid for the event after attending it
